Donley County VINE Coverage

Spelling and name order can affect a result. Try a supported variation when appropriate, but never force a match based only on a similar name. The reporting agency is crucial. A record from a neighboring county can be accurate for that county while still failing to answer the Donley question.

A “released” status is not the Donley County booking-out document. It may not state whether the person went into the community or was handed to TDCJ, another county, USMS, or ICE. Confirm the time, authority, release type, and destination with the sheriff’s record.

The PIN acknowledges a call. It should not be included in a public-records request, shared in a public message, or treated as an offender identifier. Registration provides notice; it does not direct the release process and does not replace contact with the agency when safety or timing requires current confirmation.
Donley Alert Confirmation
A release alert records an event supplied through the reporting system. It is valuable, but it can lag. It may omit the release authority or destination. Call the Donley County Sheriff and ask whether the booking has closed, when the person left Donley custody, why the departure was recorded, and whether another agency received the person.

Donley’s local setup is distinctive. The sheriff directs readers to VINELink while publishing no roster or recent-release archive. At the same time, voluntary Texas county participation means the local link cannot be treated as a complete coverage guarantee. The practical answer is a two-part check: identify the agency that supplied the digital result, then obtain confirmation from the custodian that actually ended or continued the booking.
This also prevents a common system mix-up. County jail alerts belong to the county SAVNS/VINELink layer when the county reports. TDCJ events belong to IVSS. Federal BOP custody is not covered by county VINELink, and immigration custody has its own federal tools. A single person can move through more than one system, so the right portal can change after transfer.

That page-level absence should be rechecked when county services change, not converted into a claim that Donley has never had another tool.
VINE Limits for Donley Releases
VINE data can be affected by feed lag, name spelling, agency participation, and record suppression. Notifications also describe only the event offered by the reporting system. They do not prove the absence of another hold, identify every destination, or guarantee that a person is free of all custody.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records require the BOP locator and federal information channels. ICE custody uses the ICE detainee locator, with its own scope. A transfer to either system can close the Donley booking while custody continues. State-prison cases move to TDCJ’s search, records, parole, and IVSS channels. These are not alternate screens for the same database.
